Look Young With Vitamins

Skin is the largest part and the outer portion of your body. Imagine how you would look like without your skin? That's how important your skin is. You can always check your skin elasticity by pinching a portion of your inner arm and then release it quickly. The faster it flattens back, the younger you maybe. The skin determines how old or how young a person is biologically, have you ever seen a 60 years old man or woman with the skin like that of a baby?

So as we tend to grow older, the more our skin would look saggy, wrinkled and ugly. The environment, stress, sun exposure, dehydration are also some of the contributing factors that affects your skin's elasticity.

However, vitamins claim that it can play a major role in the skin's elasticity. Vitamin C inhibits the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are two kinds of protein that works together to help our skin look younger than our real age by making it soft and supple, firm and strong. Collagen is widely being used in surgery and is also available in the market as supplements. Insufficient amount of collagen in the body can also lead to bone- related diseases. On the other hand we also have Vitamin A that is a vital component in the production of new cells and elimination of dead cells. Vitamin A is also good for the maintenance of healthy teeth and skin besides it being known for the promotion of good eyesight.

Vitamin A and Vitamin C both contains elastin and collagen and studies have already proven the effectiveness of supplements containing these proteins that we may be lacking in our systems while Science claims the importance of healthy skin turgor and why we should take care of our skin especially as we get older since it has been known that the production of both elastin and collagen decreases as we grow old.
